Center for Women
The Linda and Rudy Slucker NCJW/Essex Center for Women provides women who are entering or re-entering the workforce with a wide range of practical and emotional support, counseling, skills development, self-esteem workshops and more.
The team – a director, a case manager and a career services manager – offers one-on-one guidance and access to resources as these women work to improve their lives and those of their families.
A highlight was the RISE (Reaching into Self Empowerment) program, a series of online workshops led by trained volunteers and focused on encouraging clients to become their best selves. The Center for Women conducted three RISE sessions this year.

My friend came to CFW as a CareerQuest client as she has been out of the workforce for many years. She attended two RISE Zooms and said they were unbelievable and changed her entire mindset. She has been working one-on-one with Sharon who has been a life saver, so easy to work with and filled with helpful information. She used one of the computer certificates to attend a class, and credits Patty for being very patient with her learning curve. I am so happy to report that she has received a job offer, which she says absolutely would not have happened without everyone’s help at the CFW!!
